Supported by elite national sponsors

Criterium racing is the dominant form of road cycling in the United States, and for good reason. Fast, technical, and built for city streets, criteriums deliver high-speed racing on tight, repeated circuits, meaning that spectators get to enjoy non-stop action.

With riders flying by every few minutes and strategy unfolding lap by lap, this style of racing has proven to be widely popular with athletes, fans, and sponsors alike. The ACC’s criterium racers aren’t just competitions - they’re cultural pillars of US bike racing that draw thousands of spectators and transform urban neighborhoods into electric environments.

By uniting the nation’s best events and attracting top talent, our series elevates both the sport and its athletes, creating national stakes, real prestige, and a national stage where the sport of criterium racing can thrive.

A Competition Fueled by Collaboration

The American Criterium Cup is made up of several individual cycling events that have come together with a shared belief: the future of American criterium racing is stronger when we work collaboratively.

Each member event operates independently, preserving its own identity, traditions, and community. Collectively, we recognize that by aggregating our resources, experience, and vision, we can build something more impactful than any single event could achieve alone - a foundational series that tells a bigger story about American racing.

Built on the legacy of long-standing, respected events and led by some of the best organizers in the country, our series is focused on stability, sustainability, and elevation of the sport as a whole.

Each event has pledged to:

  • Execute its race at the highest standard

  • Give equal prize money for men and women across the series with a guaranteed minimum prize list of $8,000 per gender per event

  • Commit to excellence in production quality, safety, & athlete experience

Six distinct events. One shared mission.
Together, we’re raising the bar for American Criterium Racing.

The Road to the ACC Podium

The American Criterium Cup is a true season-long competition where every race plays a role and every point matters.

At each ACC event, riders and teams earn points through race results and mid-race sprint competitions. These points accumulate from each race, rewarding consistency, tactics, and teamwork across all six events.

At the end of the season, the ACC awards the following championship categories for both men and women:

Throughout the competition, the rider leading the overall series standings proudly wears the red ACC Leader Jersey. The rider leading the sprint standings wears the green ACC Davis Phinney Foundation Sprint Jersey in honor of our Official Charity Partner, The Davis Phinney Foundation, which was founded by famous American sprinter, Davis Phinney. Our red and green jerseys make the favorites for each title visible and easy for fans to follow from race to race.

This structure gives spectators exhilarating battles to cheer for and racers multiple paths to the podium, creating meaningful storylines from the opening race to the final lap of the series.
